« Cosmological and astrophysical impacts of a dark matter candidate in the standard model »

It is possible that a neutral, baryon number = 2 bound state of uuddss quarks is stable or effectively stable, with mass in the range ~ 1.85 - 2.05 GeV. Surprisingly, such a state would have escaped detection in particle experiments to date. After briefly introducing the particle (called Sexaquark, S) and explaining why it would have eluded detection, I will show that its relic abundance as estimated from statistical mechanics and the parameters of quantum chromodynamics, is compatible with the observed dark matter to baryon ratio. The consistency of S properties with direct detection experiments, neutron stars and astrophysics/cosmology constraints will be discussed. Some interesting possible cosmological impacts will be presented. According to audience interest, I can briefly recount how production of S-Sbar pairs in e+e- collisions would naturally explain the dual particle physics puzzles of g-2 and lattice Hadronic Vacuum Polarisation.
